Getting Started with Cardbox

This is included on the Cardbox CDROM and is installed as part of Cardbox. You can read it by using the Cardbox command Help > Getting Started. If you don't see that command in your Help menu then you must be using an older version of the software: you can download a more recent version of Cardbox 3.0 here.

Sample databases

The sample databases that are included on the Cardbox CDROM. (Download)

Log monitor

A utility program that lets you view the Cardbox debug log file while Cardbox is running. You may find this useful when developing macros. (Download)

Audit tool

A utility program that checks the internal structure of Cardbox database files for correctness. (Download)

Upgrade from Cardbox-Plus

A program to convert format files from the layout used by Cardbox-Plus for DOS to the layout used by Cardbox for Windows. (Download)

Windows 95 components

Microsoft released various Windows components some time after the initial release of Windows 95, so if you are running an early version of Windows 95 then you may need to download some of these components before you can use Cardbox. (Download)

Windows components

If you want to use File > Import From Database to import data into Cardbox from external databases then you need Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). These are installed on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, but some older versions of Windows may not have them. (Details)

If you want to use File > Export to process your XML output through an XSLT transform then you need Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML 4.0). This software may already be present on your system, especially if you have installed a recent version of Microsoft Office. (Details)

Cardbox 2.0

If you are still using Version 2.0 of Cardbox for Windows, you can download the program files and the main User Manual.
