The Quick Unicode Input tool
How it works
The Quick Unicode Input tool consists of two program files: quick.exe (40KB), which starts up the tool and controls its options, and quickdll.dll (7KB), which performs the actual interception of keystrokes.
The tool works by installing a Windows system-wide keyboard hook: this is a mechanism that intercepts every keystroke and passes it to quickdll.dll for processing before any program sees it. The tool looks for the relevant keystrokes (the various necessary Alt combinations) and passes everything else straight to your program. The tool does not record keystrokes in any way at all.
System requirements
The Quick Unicode Input tool is designed to work on all versions of Windows from Windows 95 upwards and from Windows NT 4.0 upwards. We have tested it on Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP (Home and Professional Editions).
Support
The Quick Unicode Input tool is distributed free of charge and so we do not offer technical support for it: if it works, it works; if it doesn't work, don't use it.
We have set up a discussion forum in which you can post comments and questions and receive responses from other members of the forum.
