Windows 95 ComponentsIf you are running Cardbox 3.0 on Windows 95, your system requires some components that were released by Microsoft after the original publication of Windows 95. DCOMThis is needed for Cardbox to run at all. Your Windows 95 system may already contain DCOM (Microsoft's documentation suggests that it will if Internet Explorer 4.0 is installed). If it does not, you will receive error messages about a missing function called CoInitializeEx when you try to run Cardbox, and you should update your system by downloading and running the update program given below.
Click on the link above to download the file dcom95.exe, then run it to update your system. HTML HelpThis is needed to view the on-line help for Cardbox. Your Windows 95 system may already have a recent version of HTML Help, since the new version is installed as part of Internet Explorer 5.0 and Microsoft Office 2000. If you do not have a recent version of HTML Help, then you will get error messages (referring to HHCTRL.OCX) when you ask Cardbox for help or try to configure it, and you should update your system by downloading and running the update program given below.
Click on the link above to download the file hhupd.exe, then run it to update your system. Internet ExplorerInternal components of Internet Explorer 4.0 or above are needed to view Cardbox's on-line help. Internet Explorer is available from Microsoft. Microsoft claim that you can install Internet Explorer even if you are want to continue using a different Web browser. VBScriptVBScript is needed so that Cardbox can play macros. It is included with Internet Explorer, or you can download VBScript from Microsoft's web site.
